underfllor storage 2011 fords
I've been told by sportsmobile that underfloor storage options are no longer available for 2011 ford eb even if you move tire to rear door because of a canister ford is now putting underneath the rear end. am i misunderstanding them or what?

Re: underfllor storage 2011 fords
Someone else who has a SMB "basement" installed wrote that they just removed the charcoal canister and gave it to him in a box. Since the canister is part of the emissions control equipment and shouldn't be removed I'm guessing that something happened and SMB got dinged for it. Just a guess.

Can't remove it, per emissions, I get that, but can you move it? It's just a vapor collection something or other (I forget) been around for a long time and simple application- no wires or anything just tubes. I can see California getting bent if it's not there, but I also can't see how moving it affects anything.

I agree with you, but living in this wonderful state (well it would be without the politicians), it wouldn't surprise me that relocating emissions equipment would require "recertification" or at the least, an inspection and associated, lets-balance-the-budget fee.

I know you can move them since I've already moved mine.
By the way there are wires. They go to what I think is called the purge valve.
Don't know anything about re-certification though.

Re: underfllor storage 2011 fords
Sportsmobile worked with Transfer Flow (fuel tank manufacturer) regarding the relocation of the vapor recovery canister. After passing all of the emissions tests, we are able to relocate the canister to install an XL storage compartment on the 2011 Fords.

Well then clearly you need to travel west. Jonny works for SMBw so I think he's speaking from personal knowledge.

Strange as there are no emissions standards in Indiana, you'd think California is where it wouldn't be allowed. I go back to call again, talk to someone else.
