How to link a post in a thread?

Hi
Can anyone help me: I was trying to link a specific post in a thread, is this possible?
I.e. the link takes you to the third posting in the thread rather than just the beginning of that same topic...
Not sure if my question is that clear...
Thanx anyways for any suggestions

Re: How to link a post in a thread?

I just googled it, as I was curious myself... see that little page icon to the left of the 'Posted' date and time above every post? Right-click on that to copy the link, then paste it into your message.

Cheers!
Mike.

Re: How to link a post in a thread?

In my response to charlie56's "SMB steering issue" thread, I replied and used this process. When I click on the link, it opens to the entire thread. Did I do something wrong, or did I misinterpret how it was supposed to work? I thought it wold link to my post only.

Did you right click Herb? For me it works like with a picture. Right click and select copy...but I have not tried this method as stated yet. [EDIT] Well I also get the entire thread, so I'm missing something as well.
