Looks like buy and install stuff, not that that's bad.

Like you said it does "look" like good stuff,

The Awnings need a little more support but that's easy,

I wouldn't care for only being able to get into that storage by having to open the rear doors and pulling it out, Couldn't do it in Alaska too many bugs. But the again You don't have to have that. Or don't go to Alaska.

Re: New Conversion Company ?

I, too, recently came across his site and saw the conversions he does. But only because I happened to look up custom Ford Transit Connect and saw his module package that you could either install or they can for you. There are pictures and even a price list for the TC Module. I'm not as impressed, though, with his Econoline conversions, but that's just me I guess. I'm overall impressed with his company and wish him best of luck. When you do meet him, ask him if he has plans to continue the conversions for the upcoming 2014 Ford Transit Connect, if you don't mind. Thanks!

Re: New Conversion Company ?

Seems like a hybrid of the off-road RV conversions and van conversions. The pull-out kitchen is used a lot by the rock-crawler crowd.

Only odd thing I noticed is all the kitchen pullout storage is on the opposite side of the extension from the sink!

Re: New Conversion Company ?

RTT and trailer/bed slideouts in a van seems to be missing the best features of it being a van. I mean if you get a factory 4x4 crew cab F350, put the kitchen slider in the bed and RTT over it, you've lost a bit of dead space in exchange for 8' less climb to bed.

The Sprinter is better, but how much does it really take to drop a dometic in place? It's like the RTT, almost anyone could just put there own RTT on and go.

I like that the guy is doing different, I just wish it was different van instead of treating it like a giant compact trailer. Still it reminds me of CCV; at some point Derek built his first top and he does and did RTTs and non-van builds. The KevinHornbyDesigns doesn't seem to be very deep into quantity of builds yet, there does seem to be potential there.

I wrote him on Friday afternoon and got a response, albeit a short one, Saturday morning. Be sure to check your spam folder... most of my emails end up there for whatever reason these days.
