SOCAL build
After about a year of looking and talking to a few knowledgeable folks on here or recommended from here I finally decided to buy a 4x4 van as opposed to having one converted.
I bought a 2000 Ford F350 EB V10 with a Salem Kroger 4x4 6" leaf spring lift with 100k on it. I did spend a lot of time looking, I search about every site you can think of daily. In the end I had to fly 2 hours and drive 8 hours home to get what I wanted.
It is a beast, I have never been almost eye level with 18 wheelers before. It is also a bit skethy to drive, it wobbles but this will be fixed. It was also a work van so the interior needs work. Here are my plans as of today:
Here are a few before I bought:

Re: SOCAL build
Welcome to the gang! Good looking van. Your list will get a lot longer unfortunately, but it's a labor of love. Keep us posted as you can, and don't hesitate to ask questions. Lots of good info here.

Re: SOCAL build
Interior cleaned out, now just need to find someone to weld the bolt holes closed that where drilled for the utility shelves in the floor.

Re: SOCAL build
With your interior stripped out and sanded ... now is the time for sprayed in bedliner if you are going that route.

Re: SOCAL build
Thanks 86scotty
Taylorvon, I was think that but I am leaning more towards the plywood rubber coin matting mod I have seen on here.

Re: SOCAL build
I was on vacation for a week and while I was gone my brother-in-law completed the following:
Oil\Filter
Fuel Filter
Transmission fluid
Air filter
Spark plugs
Rear Breaks\Rotors and calipers
He still has to install the Pro Comp dual steering wheel stabilizer but needs to weld a mounting bracket.
Also the front rotors need to be machined out to fit. No sure what Salem Kroger does to the front end, best he could figure is a F-350 Super Duty, but some things do not fit right, they need some modification.
He will finish this work up next weekend.
All said and done $1100.00 in parts.

Re: SOCAL build
Went to the body shop this week for a color sand\buff and have the door jams painted. They did a great job. This was a work truck so it needed it.
$650 but worth it.
$20 for the 4x4 stickers
