Has anyone tried these headlights?

I saw these on a local van and they look pretty sweet, has anyone tried them?

Re: Has anyone tried these headlights?

RAWDAWG and I installed them. Work great, no issues so far. Also bought the matching side markers. RAWDAWG replaced the halogens with HID's.

Re: Has anyone tried these headlights?

I don't know what RAWDAWG installed but I just ordered these. His have HID for low beam and halogen for high. Theses have some kind of magnetic actuator that changes the position of the HID bulb for high beam. Will update this post after I install them.

Re: Has anyone tried these headlights?

My experience with HID conversions has not been so great, lots of light but it sits in a different place within the housing/ reflector so the light ends up scattered. I want to give LED's a try but I'm not sure if buying conversion housings + LED "bulbs" like these: http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/3 ... _p_83.html is the best option vs buying Trucklite LED's that are a sealed unit: http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/st ... ctId=92027 Obviously the Trucklite versions will only replace sealed beams (like I have) so they aren't an option for those of you with the factory H4 "euro" style lights.

Re: Has anyone tried these headlights?

In order to properly utilize HID's, you need to retrofit a projector housing into the headlight housing. Just putting HID bulbs in a halogen housing will create hot spots since there isn't anything to direct the output and makes it incredibly bright to oncoming traffic.

Agree. The headlights I bought have a built in projector lens, visible in pic above.

Re: Has anyone tried these headlights?

For those yet to install any of these upgraded H/L's it would be nice seeing a before & after. I tend to avoid or shy away from the composite housings as IMHO they're too susceptible to internal discoloration and the loss of output.

Interesting selection so far in just a few choices---looking forward to any updates.
