Roof rack solar shower

Anyone ever make a roof rack shower that works off hearing from the sun and drains off gravity with a hose? Or has anyone used this?

Otherwise might as well just get a couple solar shower camp bags and hang those as needed.

Yes, the roadshower and some similar home-brewed stuff has been discussed here.

The search button is your friend......

Here's another option. A custom made roofrack that doubles as a water holding tank. Made of 2" plumbing tubes found everywhere (Lowe's...)
Simple to build, cheap, and stronger than it looks. Add a screw-on fill cap, a pressure nozzle (just a tire valve) and a hose size valve to connect your shower kit, voila!

That's a great example of how you can always find a little air space in any vehicle that can be used to store something useful. I'm impressed. I'd like to see some more pics of that.

Re: Roof rack solar shower

Yep, Black PVC 2" is very interesting idea.

For anyone who is wondering , looks like about .15 gals per foot is capacity for the 2" diam. Sch 80
4" diam takes it up to around .6 gals per foot. boywonder can correct me if I am off

Main issues for me are ability to refill on an extended trip, or in places with no hose, i.e. lake, stream or pump. That is what makes the Solar shower bags more attractive.
