Shower pan options?

Hi guys!

What are my options for the shower pan?

The "bathroom's" wall will be made of plywood covered with plastic sheeting and that's the shape of the pan at the bottom.

Right now these are the only options I can think of :
A-buy a 34"x24" shower pan and modify it?
B-build it myself out of plywood+fiberglass+gel coat?
C-continu the plastic sheeting from the walls on the floor overlaping each other and drowning everything in silicone?

I'm thinking option A wouldn't be so bad?

Re: Shower pan options?

I have been using a mop sink for years the sides make it easy to keep the curtain contained. It also is good for laundry dogs etc.
I found some pics this is the new one just made this week have been using a 24x24 with a stand up shower stall from coleman for years. It is removable. The drain is under the plug where you put the table leg.

Re: Shower pan options?

if your floor is waterproof do you need a drain pan?
if you need a cheap and simple drain pan you might want to check out Lowes or Home Depot for a square cement mixing tray.

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I'm adding a shower this fall and will try this out.

Re: Shower pan options?

As of now, I plan on building a 4" high wooden pan that I will cover with fiberglass and covering the inner walls/ceiling with white plastic sheeting.

This is where I'm at right now :

Re: Shower pan options?

I used a 32x24 fiberglass pan and then used white tinted bed liner on the walls and ceiling. The pan has a 1.5" flange around it's perimeter which the liner over lapped.

Re: Shower pan options?

Sorry for not cleaning out the pan before taking a picture. Liner goes all the way up the walls and even the ceiling. Drain goes into a gray water tank. Hose you see is the hand held.
