Winch mounts or bumpers?

Any links, names or builders for winch bumpers or mounting systems would be appreciated. I have a 10K Id like to install on our 95 GMC van. Figure its fab time but thought Id ask the experts here.

Re: Winch mounts or bumpers?

'95 was the body style transition year. Do you have the old body style? If yes, I would recommend a skid-plate to prevent the sheet-metal sub-frame from collapsing under a winch-load. The new body style vans have a ladder-frame, so they only need reinforcement for side-loads, but should be fine for mostly straight pulls.

Re: Winch mounts or bumpers?

I had a winch plate welded to my front hitch and went through the existing stock bumper for a 12k winch. Had Any Seven Offroad in San Leandro do it. Not sure where you live, but most any 4x4 shop could probably do something similar easily.
