I have had the Deaver spring pack on the rear of the van for a couple of years now. As mentioned in another thread I was not happy with the ride right off the bat.
To get it to ride better we pulled several leafs out which dropped the van 3-4 inches in the back. We put blocks in to level the van. The van still sits a little low in the back and I really need an even taller block to level it out. Plus I would really like to pull one more leaf out to smooth out the ride even more. It rode great with the one extra out but we had to put it back in to get close to level.
The question/thoughts I have on this: I don't like having blocks to level the van. I wish the springs were holding the load and keeping the van level with a great ride. Do I put the taller blocks in and just forget about it or have some form of adjustment made to the spring pack? Or do I just sell what I have now and have a new pack built?
I just keep thinking that if had the correct spring pack installed I would get back 4 inches of spring travel with those springs instead of having 4+ inches of blocks to make up the difference.
I think if I pull another leaf I will need a 4-5 inch block to bring the van level.
