Wheel size for 2009 Quigley

I replaced my new to me 2009 Quigley 18" wheels with 17" wheels with 285/70/17 tires. I need a spare. What is mounted underneath the van is a 245/75/16. I thought that Quigley installed ford 17" wheels to accomadated the larger calipers and rotors. I just cant believe they would send you home without a spare that would fit. Does anyone know if I can just mount a 33" tire on the 16" wheel that would fit to use as a spare only?

Re: Wheel size for 2009 Quigley

Not only is the size not going to fit but the lug pattern is wrong.

Later model Quigley's used the 2005 on up Ford F250/350 Dana 60. It is 8 lug on 170mm and your van was 8 on 6.5in. The 2005 axle needs at least a 17" wheel to clear the brakes.

You must also have a rear wheel adapter/spacer to convert the rear lug pattern.

Re: Wheel size for 2009 Quigley

Thanks Ramsey - I actually knew that but was not thinking. So it looks like the PO was just carrying this spare for his buddies or maybe a sand anchor. So if anyone in Socal has a 17" wheel 8 x 170mm with 33" tire I'm in the market.
