Boulder Offroad Van

I see Boulder offroad has been listed in many posts on this forum, but I can't find any feedback on how people feel about actual 4x4 van conversions that have been done by them. Any reviews would be helpful.

Thanks

Talk to REF too. He lives in Boulder and has had good things to say about these guys, but his van is a Quigley I think.

My friend Erin works there and is very talented - I think they have nice products and services.

Re: Boulder Offroad Van

Hey all, I actually just swung by there today. I have seen several of their 4X4 conversions and they look to be done up right and I've run into customers that had their 4X4 done by them and they were happy. Yes, I have a quigley but its heavily modified, I had boulder off road do some front end work with a new larger sway bar set up and mount and they tweaked everything around to get proper clearance and setup after sneaking the axle forward some more, I can say first hand their fab work done by Erin, Ramsey's friend, is top notch and a good guy to boot, very approachable to talk to and shoot around ideas with, he does mounts, bumpers, carriers, you name it and it all looks really good, I wish I had more of his work on my rig, maybe someday. I'm not certain what's happening with sidetrack06's van, and he's even acknowledged that Don has been working with him throughout the ordeal and they still have open communication and didn't have anything bad to say when I asked him about his experience there, his issues seem to be unique from what I gathered after talking to Don, the owner of boulder off road, who said they haven't run into that before, for one, he's got a big lift and some funky geometry going on, and as sidetrack06 and I both think, it's the play in the track bushings that's likely causing the wobble, he needs fixed style mounts. Anyway, from my experience, I think you'll be happy with the work, those chevy's look bad a** after he's done with them, get Erin to fab up some bumpers for that thing too.

Re: Boulder Offroad Van

thanks everyone for the help. Very much appreciated.

We will be rather light offroaders, and are considering highway performance pretty important in the scheme of things. I'm considering the Eaton Detroit truetracs, possibly rear and front. Like the idea that they operate with gears rather than clutches as in much of the limited slips chunks. Seems that while not engaged during slip, they are in effect open differential.

I know most serious offroaders dislike them, but for our applications, does anyone have any feedback?

Thanks, once again.

Have you seen Erin's Van - TTB. "Just sayin'"

Erin worked for Spirit Racing in the El Cajon area (near us) for several years.

Yes, I think I've seen it. He said its been to down there as a support vehicle? Is that right?, anyway, I was spelling it Aaron, corrected. I'll try to get a pic of it next time I'm out there.
