New springs and now a little Death Wobble?

I recently (with help from my buddy) put on all new fox 2.0's, new Deavers, Sulastic shackles, removed airbags, new steering damper, and new Moog CC880s springs. It used to drive smooth, albeit harsh as heck, now it has no bottom out at all and rides SUPER SMOOTH, but has a little hint of death wobble at 65-70 MPH, can anyone speak to this a bit? It's an EB 2000 Quigley, 86k miles, V10 4x4. Any help is much appreciated.

Re: New springs and now a little Death Wobble?

I recently had my rear leaves serviced and a leaf added plus 1inch block and the same moogcc880s springs.
I had my alignment done , now drives super smooth no death wobble. i find Im driving faster than i did before because the steering is so"quiet" now..

Re: New springs and now a little Death Wobble?

Is it wobble or bump steer? Wobble won't stop until you slow the van way down. You may need a drop pitman arm to align your tie rod with your track bar. Also your control arm bushings may be shot that's where a lot of the wobble comes from if that's truly what you have. There are videos all over YouTube showing the front to back movement on control arms that is wobble. Also try + 6 on caster alignment. The quigley design isn't great and if you lift the van at all you will chase down front end steering issues.

Dude1, thanks for the tip on the drop pitman arm. I'll look into that. We put on a steering damper and it helped the symptoms, it could be a bump steer thing since it goes away if he accelerates out of the 60-70mph range. Where do I get a drop pitman arm? I might do that on my own rig. Thanks!

Your welcome. I used an f350 drop pitman arm. You should be able to order it online or local Offroad shop. The same year f350 as your van should work.

Not necessarily true.

Read this: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...p?f=39&t=15587

I doubt it is your pitman arm.

I'm just giving advise from my experience in the last few months chasing steering issues and the things I have done to fix the problems. And the pitman arm was one that helped. I'm not an expert just sharing my experience with dealing with quigleys f'd up design.
