Bondo and respray these mojave wheels - bad idea?

Hoping to switch to Mojave wheels but they don't make em for the 8x170mm bolt pattern (quigley). They do have this version in the correct size and bolt pattern, identical except for an embossed logo which I'd like to get rid of.

I was thinking could I just wirebrush that, bondo over it, sand it flat and respray? Then I'd have exactly what I want. Like this:

I think the mojave wheels are painted aluminum alloy. Would bondo pop out in extreme hot/cold? Anybody tried something like this? Thanks for any suggestions!

A forum member RandallDee repaired some Mojave's and used filler and spray paint. Might want to PM him and see if they have held up and what materials he used.

About half way down on this page is his post with pics...

My Mojaves are Teflon coated, which will make getting things to stick that much harder......I suppose you could bead blast the coating off.....Then you lose the Teflon which makes for easy cleaning.

The other dilemma is that factory coatings are usually a lot more robust than rattle-can paint. I'd just live with the logo and be happy, or choose another wheel.

You might want to check your sizing, I thought all Quigley's were converted over to 8X6.5, at least mine and most others I've heard of are. I have the Mohave wheels too....

Re: Bondo and respray these mojave wheels - bad idea?

I agree with Boywonder. I'd live with the logo. But one or two of the wheels I got on Craigslist were slightly damaged so I wanted to clean them up. They needed a little file work and filler. I found some rattle can paint at my local hardware store that was formulated specifically for wheels. Or at least that what it said. I scuffed up all of the wheels with some light sandpaper for prep and except for some minor rock chipping they are holding up fine.
