Any one bought a cool one to replace the stock unit? Bilstein?

Not yet, but I'm sure it will help over what Quigley provides. Not to disparage Quigley. Ford limits a lot of what they can do.

What are the choices? Rancho, Bilstein, Fabtec, Rough Country, and more.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper

I need to replace mine (bent it yesterday, slid into a snow beam) so I am looking for something else.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper

I mounted a stabilized off an F350 on my van. It is a stout unit, and I like it.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper

No part numbers, I just went to the dealership and looked at PU's till I found one with the steering damper, copied the VIN and asked the parts guy. I will check for PN tomorrow. And I need to take some photos.

Can't find the invoice. Sorry. I do recall that I had to buy the special bolt that goes into the steering link also.

Here is a picture:

Shows the damper, special bolt, etc.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper

Thanks for your efforts Mike. Totally different setup on my '07. Kinda weird, your photo looks like what's in my official Ford Service manual (which is 2 wheel drive of course) but way different from what's under my rig. SMB changed the whole thing I guess.
Looks like I'll have to make up a bracket to go on the frame and then use a clamp setup, like on the aftermarket kits, to fasten to the drag link. Again, my Ford book shows a bolt on bracket to the frame (I can probably order that) and then a U-bolt clamp setup to the drag link (no bolt hole on mine). I'll have to check for clearance under there too.
Again, thanks....

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper

My 07 Quigley uses two dampeners. Scatter, call Quigley and get the part numbers for your dampeners based on your VIN.
