The Four Wheel Drive system has never been used, not once, by either of its owners. It was installed at approximately 131,000 mi.
For information about the 4x4 conversion that was done by, "Advanced 4WD Systems", in Salt Lake City, go to the Advanced 4WD Systems web site. Or check with Randy Robinson the GM at show contact info for all information.

Van was mainly a daily driver, in and around Burlingame and SFO. It was owned and used for 98% of the mileage by a Swiss couple who worked at SFO for Swissair. It was their second Sportsmobile. I've put 1,500 mi.on it since I've owned it. They bought it new and sold it to me in 2012.

With the Four-Wheel Drive, Mud & Snow tires, allow going without chains in heavy snow. Also with the Thermostatic Propane Heater for winter camping. My dream was to camp in the lot at Alpine Meadows and be the first on the slopes in the morning. But never got around to doing it, maybe you can.

Van is in El Cerrito, CA, thirteen miles from San Francisco.

There is some wiggle room in the price. Email me through Ebay to set up a time to discuss by phone.

Re: 1999 Pristine Ford/Sportsmobile

I've seen this on craigs and on the SMB website. I kept thinking, that doesn't look like 4wd because of the stock looking height (they didn't have pics showing 4wd components before). I don't think I've seen another 4x4 that looked like it was at 2wd height. Looks pretty clean though.

Those outside photos don't make sense to me. Looks like a 2wd.

One close-up pic shows Warn hubs, but pics from further away don't show the hubs. Maybe a cover that goes over the hubs? Strange.

Yeah but there should be other signs. Strange.

He bought it as a 2wd, had Advanced 4x4 in SLC do the conversion and is now selling it. Some pictures are from before the 4x4 conversion. That is the way I read it.

Why don't you post some current pictures with the 4x4 system?

Re: 1999 Pristine Ford/Sportsmobile

If you look at the under side pics, it uses flat leaf springs and the engine crossmember was deeply notched, so it l could see it retaining near stock ride height. Also it looks like a small pumpkin, maybe a D44?

What?[/quote:1rek8kw4]
Well, technically he's correct.

Strange though, the current mileage isn't listed anywhere, except he says he's put in 1,500 mi. since he purchased, which is about the distance to & from SLC. Might be a good deal with an almost new 4x4 system, if you can get past the red flags.
