I'm not saying it's the worst van I've ever seen posted here, but... well, maybe if you consider it a rolling 4x4 conversion platform?

I'd keep my eyes out for a ski / mountain / sightseeing van. Often a clean base van with 4x4 and high miles. Your girlfriend might even approve- if she is not completely anti-van, but anti-this-van she might be a keeper!

$4500 bugout van!!--powerstroke in running order

From the post....
"I am selling my 4x4 van and it has the legendary 7.3 liter powerstroke engine in it (ONLY 249KKK MILES!!)with an overdrive automatic transmission."
249KKK miles???....no one caught that?!? From the boonies of IL. Please, don't buy this van, it's got some bad mojo...

It's $4500, and I imagine the guy would take less. Not sure why everyone is busting on it so much. Not the prettiest thing, plenty of rust, etc., but people on the forum have resurrected some vans that looked pretty nasty at first.

I better clarify my above post. I wasn't laughing at the van. I was laughing at the KKK odometer figure. That van is probably worth right about what it's listed for if running. He says 'several spare parts included' as well.

BrianW, no disrespect intended in the "busting".
My experience resurrecting a van was fantastically expensive and mentally all-consuming (not necessarily a bad thing), and I started with a van that was in exceptional condition. I would fall to my knees and weep openly if that rig showed up in my yard, even if it was free.

I agree that too much busting is inappropriate on a forum dedicated to improving the van experience, yet the wide-eyed newb or wannabe should be informed about the massive costs of repair, even for highly-skilled DIY's...with a little busting thrown in for humor in the face of the challenge
