Re: In need of opinions...

If you're looking for a "50", this seems like a good candidate, though I think the price is a little high given it has factory bumpers front and rear.

Re: In need of opinions...

The top looks like it sags on the front...or it wasn't up all the way?

Seems like a nice looking rig otherwise.

I'm of the same opinion on the price based on my recent (and some what obsessed) searches

Any suggestions on what would be a reasonable price to offer/pay?

I've been wondering about this as well. I'm hoping to ask the owners this same question Monday. I assumed it just wasn't up all the way as well?

Thanks!

Re: In need of opinions...

-2004
-V10
-cloth
-2wd
-stock bumpers
-no drivers swivel
-100K+ (not bad, just means it's been used)

none of these help the price in my opinion, these are the things that if they were there could justify a higher price.

-Electric PH

this does, but I agree with mikracer, that top is bent or something. It's not up all the way in front, and there is a definite lean to the window from the inside shot. I can confirm the electric PH goes up nice and square all the way, so there is definitely something going on. If you're close to, or can afford to take it to SMB it's probably not a big concern, but if you can't afford a week to get it taken care of, you might be looking at a pretty serious DIY repair.

In all, when you add a $15K 4x4 package, you're hitting right at $50K, which if it had some of the things I first listed, might be a buy.

For the low $20's you can buy the Chevy SMB, with the same floor plan and less than half the mileage, listed on the Indiana SMB used page

Re: In need of opinions...

I agree with jage. The top sag is the first thing that caught my eye.

I think the price is high for the mileage. V10 is a great engine but anything over 100k is when you will start seeing things like transmission repairs and bigger engine work on the radar in the near future.

If they can justify the price with all of the maintenance records for instance, and a lot of recent items such as ball joints, brakes, engine seals, fluid changes have been checked off the list, then it would seem like a more favorable deal to me.

Just looking at the van and not knowing what is up with the top (could just be the weight from the rack, but that would also make it sag evenly across the whole thing) I would think something in the mid 20s would be a fair offer.

I would also guess that if they have gone to the trouble to list it on the SMB site, they may not be willing to budge too much on price.

Good luck with the search!

PS For reference purposes, I have seen many good 4x4 candidates (a little older in model year) but with fewer miles for mid teens. I know there are some better deals out there.
