2001 Dodge Adventure Van w/solar

2001 Dodge Adventure Van w/Solar $9,500
You could purchase an old van and outfit it yourself, which seems like the less-expensive route—at first. Or, you could save yourself thousands of dollars by purchasing one where a lot of the expensive mechanical items have been cared for already, solar system and batteries installed, it’s been insulated and paneled, and it can be used right now to camp and live in.

This van was purpose-built to stealth camp in urban environments. It looks like a work van and easily fits into most neighborhood or industrial areas. With the solar power and water set-up, it can easily be used for boondocking somewhere in a national forest.

This van was purchased in June of 2013 for $3,500.
In June 2013,
• New air conditioning compressor, drier and lines--$1295
In July 2013,
• New tires were put on it--$715
• New ball joints, bearing pack and new seals, alignment --$705
• New front brakes--$195
• New gas shocks--$210
In Aug 2013
• Powertrain Control Module--$880
In Sep 2013
• New Radiator--$425
• New serpentine belt--$60
• New valve cover gaskets--$50

• New wiper control switch, motor--$220

Interior

The van:
• 5.9L V8 OHV 16V
• 3500 LWB Maxivan
• 4-speed Automatic

• New CD stereo, amp, and good 6x9 speakers
• Clear title

• Shelf storage
• Simple dry toilet (5-gal bucket under a toilet seat)

I'd be scared of sitting on the crapper and getting electrocuted.

Re: 2001 Dodge Adventure Van w/solar

The thought of crapping in a bucket right next to the bed is not very appealing to me. But hey, to each his own.
