ok what's the difference in a 2007 5.4 drive train and a 2011.why am i asking is looking at buying a 2007 with 37thousind miles on it for 10 grand or a 2011 with 20thousind mi on for 18 grand..this van stuff is driving me crazy...haha and I build costume cars....

Nothing in the power-train is different. 2011 will give you the updated front clip, upgraded brakes all around, better front suspension design, and modern dash on in the inside. And way more useful door panels.

Note: Its pretty easy to swap the ''08+ front axle into the older vans. However if you are doing 4x4 it doesn't matter anyways, and while the rear brakes got upgrade the old ones should still be sufficient for most tires (up to about a 34" tire it seams).

yes I want to make it a 4x4....my partner has dun 3 body frontends from the old style front clip to the new one ....so your saying the 07 is the better deal? and thanks for your help !!!

Well 10k is certainly less than 18k.

Personally the only thing I really miss on my '00 V10 is TorqueShift transmission (which the v8 vans don't get anyways). One of these days I'll probably do some sort of transmission upgrade. Still cheaper than a new van
