2013 e150 5.4 extended

I am looking at a 2013 E150 extended with 5.4 liter does anyone think this would be a good model to convert? I plan on keeping it a light build and may add a penthouse and lift kit. I have heard that they had beefed up the E150 in 2008.

Sure, why not......

In 2008 they got bigger brakes, it's got a 5.4L and if you are doing a light build and keeping it 2WD what's not to like?

One difference between the E150 and E350 is the height/section stiffness of the frame.

You're both correct here---win-win huh?

Beginning in '08 the E150 was essentially an E250 with same frame, brakes etc. In order to check this further just look at the drivers door jamb sticker for the GCVW----should be close to 8,600#.

Having bought EB E250 for a work/cargo van it would be hard going back to the standard body now. That extra 20" to the rear is much more beneficial than I would have ever imagined.
