something happens when removing the air resonator at a 7.3?

I hate the air resonator in my engine room. It is always in the way. You donīt see anything and even to change the fuel filter is bad with it. To take it out for working is a pain and takes time....
So i am thinking to remove it complete and close the tube.
Did someone here the same or at least made a test?
My question is:
Any decrease of power in low rpm?
Any increase of noice?
Something else?
I appreciate your coments!

I took a 2" pvc sch 40 cap and turned it down a touch to fit properly in the intake. It is a touch louder but it makes it easier to get to everything.

We've removed a few of them. No difference.

I made this part from aluminum to close the hole.

Unfortunatly i can not test the van in the moment as i have no registration ( cost a lot of money here and I will not drive it in winter time on our salty roads)
