6.0/7.3 injector stiction quick fix - Archoil AR9100

I was starting to have some issues with 1 or 2 of my injectors. It wasn't starting quickly and would run rough until the EOT reached 110-120f. I did a little research and injector stiction is a common issue on HEUI systems. My mechanic recommended REV-X. I did a little research and found a cheaper alternative. I added it yesterday and drove about 10 miles. Started the van this morning and it was a night and day difference. Started right up and all cylinders were firing. I'm not a big snake oil guy but this stuff works! NO AFFILIATION.

Out of curiosity have you guys been using fuel additive before this?

I love Bill Hewitt. To further your point http://youtu.be/9O52g5dE29g, he's almost got me convinced. I'm from near Atlanta and know a guy who has had Bill work on his fleet. He swears he's a magician with the 6.0...course maybe he is and maybe that's what it takes, some combination of sorcery and potions.

only stuff ive used is the power service diesel kleen.

when i first got my truck i asked about the itty bitty bottles of the revx stuff i saw people coming in and buying like crack. i was told that it really wasnt necessary for the 7.3's, but was mandatory for the 6.0's. i was glad due to the pricetag, lol. i asked what i needed to do for max longevity and he said keep a strict schedule with my oil changes every 3k and a new fuel filter every other oil change and i would be good to go. however i noticed my mileage went to crap once it got cold and tried the diesel kleen stuff to see if it would help as others had suggested and it did, so i kept using it.

just these past few months did i notice the symptoms tapatio described, and i dont like it. gonna hafta give the stuff a try.

Re: 6.0/7.3 injector stiction quick fix - Archoil AR9100

Here's a good read and also of note, why fuel additives are important.

Quote:
One very common condition is latching of the spool valve, or referred to by Ford as "Sticktion" which is an abbreviation for Static Friction. this condition is caused by oil accumulation on the ends of the spool valves, between the valve and control solenoid, there is a drain hole for this area but at low operating temperatures, oil will latch onto the valve as it is commanded to move and slow it's movement, causing a missed or late injection event, poor cold start and poor performance at low engine operating temperatures. as the spool valve and it's bore wear, the amount of oil which can accumulate in this area will increase and exacerbate the issue.

Re: 6.0/7.3 injector stiction quick fix - Archoil AR9100

so i ordered some of this stuff to try. do i need to wait till my current tank is gone to add, or is it ok to stack the different additives? i filled up just before seeing this thread and added the power service to that 39 gallons. i should have the new goo by this friday. just wondering if its ok to add this to the same 39g that i used the diesel kleen in or if i should wait. i cant see it being an issue, but i wanted to check with you gents first. any advice?

Did you order the oil or gas treatment? I was referring to their oil additive, AR9100.
