7 year/200K for Diesels
For Ford Diesels that are still within the original factory powertrain warranty, Jay Mento has arranged for an extended warranty that will cover major components until 7years or 200,000 miles.
The cost is $2320 and the new extension must be purchased before 5 years or 100,000 miles.
Jay is the guy who has been selling the Ford extended warranty to SMB customers for 15 years. He personally helped me out on a recent coverage issue, and is a great guy all around. Contact him for more information:

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
I just talked to Jay Mento. I wanted to verify that I still cannot get an extended warranty on my 2008 gas SMB. He said, Sorry but only available for Diesels.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
Is that price ($2320) for the EngineCARE (13 covered components) or the EngineCARE Plus (21 covered components)? Just to make sure I understand this, you are basically extending your warranty by 2 years / 100,000 miles, correct?
Thanks for the information, luckily I still have 2 years or 70k miles to figure this one out then.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
I was told it was the 13 plan but would love to have someone verify it's not. The fact is that even the 13 plan is worth it IMO. I just had the bed plate gasket done and that alone would have cost me about 5K. If I add up all the costs the warrantee has covered the last 2 years, my out of pocket expense would have been about 9K if it was off warrantee. On a side note (I don't know even if I should post this and will remove it if it's wrong) that this offer only applies to conversions done by SMB. I'm planning to send Jay the check soon. I still have 10 months until the 5yr 100,000 ends.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
Ford might pull this plan upon their discretion at any time. If you purchase the plan it will be honored until the extended service plan runs out.
Here is what it is:
Extended Service Plans for Super Duty Vehicles with Power Stroke® Engines
Diesel EngineCARE* 6.0-, 6.4- and 7.3-liter
Coverage in USA and Canada.
7-Year/200,000-Mile Coverage 13 Covered Components:
Internal Lubricated Parts
Cylinder Block
Cylinder Heads
Oil Pump
Timing Chain Cover
Timing Chain (Gears or Belt)
Turbocharger (Factory-Installed)
Cylinder Head Gasket
Crankcase Oil Cooler
EGR Cooler
Fuel Injection Pump
Fuel Injection Regulator
Fuel Injectors
Must be purchased within 5-year/100,000-mile Diesel Power Stroke® Warranty
The vehicle must be a SMB if dealing with Jay. You'll need the vin#, Mileage, And pickup date from SMB.
The way it sounds is that the origanal 21 componet coverage is only available for SMB's under 3yr/ 36,000 miles

I would still contact Jay to verify if your vehicle does or does not meet the conditions. (never hurts to check)

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
I just sent a check to Jay Mentos. $2555.00, 21 componet coverage. I went for it now, just didn't want Ford to shut the program down before I sighed up. A nice chunk of money but it gives me a good feeling. I am one that never buys extended warranties. After reading so much about the 6.0 L Diesel engine on this forum, I thought I would go for it.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
Probably a good move Woody. I lost out on that coverage because I waited until 32,000 and 2 weeks before I called Jay, Ford ended the program. Still a bit bitter about that! So my check is in the mail tomorrow.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
I'm putting my check in the mail tomorrow, I'm just 2 weeks away from the 5 year deadline. One question we all ask with these kind of rigs, what's the limit on towing. If I break down 30 miles off a paved road in BFE, will they come get me? My AAA has some ambiguous language about towing limitations.

Re: 7 year/200K for Diesels
I think it is the cost after the towing I am worried about. Any covered towing would just be a bonus.
