What is the typical service life of the DPF?

it depends. technically a dpf can last Forever.

However the dpf acts like a campfire. the fire consumes wood(think diesel particulates and regeneration). with a campfire there is left unburnable ash.this ash in the DPF eventually fills it up.

assuming there is nothing wrong with the DPF it will fill up usually between 125,000 and 150,000 mile.

since sprinter Dpf's are not made to be cleaned like in bigger trucks they have to be replace. this can be around 3 thousand dollars.

you can delay the amount of time to it filling by making sure you use the most low residue fuel and oils
