The switch behind and to the left of the driver's head?

The switch behind and to the left of the driver's head, high on the interior side wall near the driver's swivel lamp... What does this switch do? It is a simple black on-off rocker switch. I can't figure out what it's for and it isn't labelled.

if you have an espar airtronic it could be the high altitude switch. mine is on the passenger side. The switch behind the driver side is my starcool switch. It's on top of the electric lift switch but I have a EB-50

Just noticed you have a 2001 so not the espar. Try to PM Jack Burgess (YVRR), he has a similar year

I have an on/off rocker switch for the Starcool A/C in that location. It’s situated within reach so that the driver can operate while driving. Only works if the knob on the Starcool is on.

2002 EB-50 here. I have the same switch and it's for the Starcool.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try it with the starcool and see if that's it. Since we just bought this last fall, we've never used the Starcool so I guess eventually I would have figured it out. Thanks again...

Lowracer,
I have an '05 and mine is to raise the Penthouse top. But you probably have the manual top or your switch is elsewhere...unless you never raised the top.

Yeah, I bought used and scratched my head for a while trying to figure out what that switch operated. The Starcool knob was rolled to the off position, so it didn't do anything at first. I will say that the dash air blows frigid when the Starcool system is on too.

The switch behind and to the left of the driver's head?

On mine, it's the switch for the StarCool.

I leave the main rotary switch for the StarCool, which is located in the rear of the van, on "low", then turn the whole system on/off with the switch above the drivers head. It's very convenient when you're driving and want to turn the StarCool system on.

This is a great thing to do JoeyNick. It is important to run the Starcool anytime that you run the dash A/C. Having the Starcool fan switch left on as well as the thermostat set to cool will allow for easy on/off operation of the Starcool from the switch behind the driver's seat while you are driving. If you run the dash A/C without the starcool on, the dash A/C will not work as well as it should.
