I wanted to make it a little easier to see things in some of the dark nooks of the cabinets. The placement of the cabin lights does very little to shine light into our pantry. So when preparing dinner or looking for a snack in the evening, it can be hard to find what we're looking for. So I thought I would give it some lighting like a refrigerator. When the door opens the light goes on.
Here are some pics:
The mounting plates on the shelf stops.
Shelf stops back in pantry and wires run behind the wall liner. The pantry back covers all the wiring connections so there are on wires visible in the cabinet once the back was reinstalled.
These lights are at the top of the pantry.
The on/off button is in the upper left corner of the door.
I also had a hard time seeing where things were in the underfloor storage at night. The light above the rear door only helped a little. So a put a long LED strip and a rocker switch in an out of the way spot.
The switch and mounting plate.
The mounting bracket to hold the light strip at a 45 degree angle.
View from inside.
Now I can quickly and easily find whatever I need.
I'm very happy how these have turned out so I plan on doing this to a few more cabinets and closets.
Cheers,
John
