Fantastic Vent Flap

Just wondering if any of you guys have the same issue and what you do to prevent it. Or if there is something I can do to prevent it.

My Fantastic Vent flaps when Im driving down the highway. Unless I leave a window cracked the dome will flap. I close the vent with the power and there still seams to be some play that allows it to flap.

Any suggestions would be appreicated.

This is the model I have.

Re: Fantastic Vent Flap

Have a Fantastic Fan in my trailer (so don't really know if it flaps) but it does have some play in one side of the lid when the lid is in the down and locked position.

FWIW, on the Fantastic Fan website FAQs, it states this:

Q. CAN I DRIVE WITH MY VENT OPEN?

A. YES! It is best to have the dome completely open. There is a lifetime warranty on the dome

Re: Fantastic Vent Flap

I have had two installed on two different vehicles and never had a problem. Call the company.......I understand they are VERY helpful.

Re: Fantastic Vent Flap

Our is pretty new and never a problem with flapping, either manual or automatic closing. Never tried driving with it open.

Sometimes it does open by itself when we turn on the 12v house master power switch. That is a little spooky...

Re: Fantastic Vent Flap

Cool. Thanks for the input everyone. I just did a 3 hour drive and realized I could release some pressure in the van by cracking my vents at the back. No more flapping really. So I'll just stick with that technique. If it starts up again I'll just call the company.
