Ok to use flexible Pex for water lines in SMB?
I'm looking to update the water system a bit in my 98 SMB. My van came from SMB plumbed using rigid Pex water pipes. Last year I removed the sink to make room for a third captain's chair, and at that time also cut out the section of pipe from the pump to the sink. I'm going to reinstall the sink in a new cabinet, and may also add a shower wand at the rear doors at the same time (I had a thread on that a month or so ago).
The question: is there any reason not to use the flexible Pex water piping for the new runs? It's a lot easier to work with, especially on long runs. What does SMB use on more recent builds?
Also, looking at the SMB install, it's a mess of Pex pipes criss-crossing each other all over the place, taking up a lot of wasted space under the dinette. I may just go ahead and replumb all the visible hard Pex pipes with flexible.
Any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome.
