Galley Box by CCV arrived today.....update 1-15-15

Unboxed the galley box in the living room tonight. It's a beast. Built like a tank and weight to match.

The actual construction of the box looks top notch. Clean lines and everything fits tight.

The side latches that drop the sides down were almost unusable when it arrived. I called Derek before breaking them and he filled me in on their usage. I still could barely open them the way it's designed. Copious amounts of WD-40 to the spring and mechanism helps but he stated it will be easier to open when mounted to the van.

The two part fold out shelves off the side also have some stout springs. So much so that when collapsing them the first time it caught my fingers between the shelves and drew blood.

There is a paper towel rack below the box that was not shipped with my unit today but Derek said it going out tomorrow.

Hope to install it this weekend and give it a real trial. Most likely the small user issues will be taken care of once installed. Post installation report to follow.....

Re: Galley Box by CCV arrived today.....

It's nice, really like how the wings extend to create two small tables but $700? Seems quite steep to me for a finger hungry wooden box!

Regardless, the expenses are quickly forgotten but the box will stay

Cheers
