Replacement microwave? Goldstar MA-680RV

My Goldstar microwave model MA-680-RV was stolen and I can't find a replacement that will fit in the opening of my van.... Anyone have ideas or one for sale? Many thanks! Rob

The original Goldstar lists dimensions at 18 7/16ths wide, 9 7/16ths high, 12 9/16ths deep - inches all.

My actual opening measures 19 1/8th wide, 10" high and 20+ deep.

Re: Replacement microwave? Goldstar MA-680RV

I bought a new microwave for my '97 SMB, and also had to search around to find one that would fit. I ended up buying one at Wal-Mart, and it fit perfectly. I don't have it to look at right now, but can get the info from it and post back later.

Mine had (from SMB) a length of small aluminum bar stock at the front and rear of the locker to hold the legs in place. I re-used it but had to leave the front bar off, put the microwave in angling it upward to get it in past the "entryway" (which is smaller than the actual space), then drop it down with the back legs *behind* the rear strip. Only then could I re-install the front strip, then slide the microwave forward (lifting the back legs over the back strip), and into place. Little SMB puzzle

BTW when I say "forward" I mean toward the front of the compartment (whichever way it faces in your van). May not be forward in relation to the way the van travels down the road.

Go to Walmart, best buy, and other big box stores with a tape measure and measure the 700W units.....The odds are quite high that you will find more than one that will fit.

^^^ dont even need to go to that extreme anymore. most places have dimensions posted online with the specifications tab. skim around the sites and find the ones best matching your particular needs, then grab a tape and go verify.

Glad to hear it was easy. Expect that Chinese masterpiece to work for about year or so. I strongly recommend you remember the exact model. My experience with $39 appliances is that you get $39 worth. I have one in my SMB too of course, and it's made it over a year now.
