When you can't have the Door Galley

The door galley is one of my favorite features of these vans, and one that gets the most use- as we cook everything. Inside or outside, it's not only stove, pan and spice storage but a table usable from the reversed passenger seat or the ground outside the van.

However, needing to take a rather large Dometic with us to Glacier I needed something more than the standard cardboard scrap shoved in to contain the contents of the side door- I needed something that, while not replicating the storage of the galley, at least let me cook at the side of the van as usual.

This is what I came up with:

Nice. Way more surface area to work with.

Considering that we use what was in it three times a day, of course. Everything got relocated, but hardly as easy to access- plus I lost my usual inside cooking surface. This is just temporary, but no reason not to make it decent since there have been times in the past as well when I've had to lose the galley for space- rare, but like I said, no more cardboard.

I like it. Excellent use of the space. Is it easily removable so the galley can be put back when needed?

Re: When you can't have the Door Galley

It looks like it uses the same hinges and latch as the original galley box, so it should be easy to remove/install.
