Help! Roof Rot - Need penthouse 'landing pad' tape.

Does anyone know a source for that heavy plastic tape SMB uses on the van roof where the penthouse rests?

My penthouse was riding a bit off center and wore a hole in the paint. Got a spot of rust. After I get that ground out and painted, I'll need some of that tape to cover the spot.

Not sure about the tape, but consider using Line-X. Its more expensive but it'll never wear out or peel.

Dunno what SMB uses but this stuff will last longer than the van...

If you just need a spot of tape try aluminum tape. You'll have to renew it on occasion, but you can carry some with you. I discovered that the tape SMB sells is so thick that it would probably work better if used extensively; in one small spot it sticks up a bit. But I'm putting it over bedliner, which has a textured surface so YMMV.

Some silicone spray on it to allow it to slide helps as well.

Pretty sure SMB is the only source for the UHA tape. Aluminum tape would be my backup choice.

The UHA tape sold by Sportsmobile works great. It's super tough. It hasn't worn noticeably or come unstuck from my van in the six years since I applied it.

I second Geofffs comment on Spomobile tape. It works, and has for 5years. I have also used a thicker Teflon tape I got somewhere and it works equally, but probably costs similarly....
In either case put some tape under the lid wear spots! Way easier than fixing paint.
