Ford Trasnsit Configurator with info

Found this, confirms some info with pricing. I haven't gone on the configurator yet, but the diesel option seems dang spendy to me over an Ecoboost. http://www.trucktrend.com/features/news ... _revealed/

Re: Ford Trasnsit Configurator with info

Another article from Ford directly
Transit production vehicles are now being built at the new Ford Plant in Kansas City, MO.

https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedi ... ction.html

It would be interesting for someone to do a basic cost comparison of the Transit vs Sprinter

Ford's Website with configurator available
http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/t ... ommercial/

MODERATOR - would it be a good idea to start a new Forum Category for the new Transit just like you did for the Sprinter? Just an idea since I see a few Transit posts sprinkled in different spots. thanks!

GCWRs are REALLy disappointing. I was hoping for at least F150 territory. Not even close.

When you compared the GCWRs to GVWRs, the effective tow ratings are more in Ford Escape territory (1500-3500 lbs). So... looks like this van has been checked off my list.

You are correct for a fully loaded van, but if van is almost empty some of the published tow ratings are up close to 7000 pounds for some models.

Disappointing nonetheless, and "effectively" not that much higher than that for a FWD ProMaster. At least not for RV use which are heavier vehicles.
