Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

I'm in the market for black bumpers for my 93 E250. I'm seeing alot of bumpers that are the stock Ford look/shape but are my by aftermarket brands. Is there a big difference in quality between these and the stock Ford bumpers? They are quite a bit cheaper and look good in the photos......just wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks,

BB

Re: Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

Probably they are not just less expensive, they are also cheaper, if you get my meaning. Sometimes you can find good take-off bumpers at SMB West or a good truck wreckers, OEM bumpers for less.

Sorry to thread jack.... Will a pre 08 bumper work with the current (08-up) grill? Looked at the bolt pattern, they look quite similar.

.... Now back to the topic

Fam Van has the front for $125 and the rear for $199. Factory take off is what their site says.

I want to get some black bumpers for my van as well. If you're located in socal, you can pick them up to avoid shipping costs.

Re: Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

I just talked to Fam Vans......they do not have the front instock(which is really odd as they have them listed on Ebay).

I went ahead and ordered an aftermarket front bumper on Ebay. Return shipping is free if I decide not to keep it....sounds like a no-brainer.

Re: Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

Please let us know how the bumpers turn out. I found a black front bumper from an online site for $68.

This is the bumper I wound up ordering. I ordered it on Wednesday and it showed up Thursday morning. Pretty impressive ship time!

It was boxed incredibly well.....basically a box inside of a box and wrapped in bubble wrap. Paint was perfect, no scratches or blemishes.

The factory mounts fit on just fine and it bolted up to the van perfectly. I'm really pleased with it. It seems like it's a little lighter in weight than the stock bumper but otherwise looks as good as stock.

Go for it.

Re: Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

I would recommend you just paint your current bumpers with bed liner. Cheap, easy and will look way cool.

Re: Aftermarket Stock Bumpers

Sweet! Glad to hear its of decent quality and bolts up nicely.

Right now, my bumper is chrome with the plastic piece that goes under it. This bumper doesnt have the plastic that goes under it right?
