Fabricated bumper

A couple months ago someone on here was having a bumper fabricated by a place I think in Laguna Beach area. I don't remember the name of the place.

The member was going to post pics and keep us updated. Anyone remember the post?

Also does anyone know the name of the shop and any other fabricators that could make bumpers cheaper then Aluminess.

Thanks,
Tony

Re: Fabricated bumper

I'd check out pirate4x4's forum. Lots of fabricators over there. Sometimes you can start with an aftermarket one and modify it, or just from scratch. I had Any Seven in San Leandro both fabricate and modify bumpers and not much more than many aftermarket ones, and they did installation. It helps if you do your own painting.

Re: Fabricated bumper

Here you go, Thanks to the good folks at American Overland Expedition (Laguna Hills, So Cal) for a great job!! They really get into this sort of projects. Custom, powder coated, with integrated tool box into the bumpers, bike rack., jack ... at very fair price. Very happy with the end product. A+ workmanship.

Re: Fabricated bumper

By the way, the owner is Alex a great guy really into the bad ass offroading thing. They are a full service shop and very patient with inpatient costumes like me :-)

Re: Fabricated bumper

I love those bumpers!

Would you mind sharing prices ? OR at least % compared to Aluminess??

Thanks.

Re: Fabricated bumper

I'll just say that it's definetly worth investigating, it much lower in price, full customs and not that heavy in fact the truck drives a bit better with the added weight

Re: Fabricated bumper

If only I could find a fabricator in Utah. You would think there was some. Nobody will make me a bumper for my van at all. I have been visiting shops, calling, asking for recommendations for almost a year now.
I might actually have to go to California just to have a bumper made.

I live in laguna beach and read your thread. was very happy to hear there was someone so close I could use to do work on my sportsmobile. meet alex and spent 2 hours going over things I wanted to do. great guy. he was going to price things out and e mail prices. after not hearing from him for a month I called and left message. never heard from him. its been about three months. very glad I didn't have work on van. what a flake! will never go back.
