2wd lift finished

All done
They had to replace a fried ball joint.
They had to add one adjustable bushing for camber one side already was already on there. Apparently my alignment was already off.
They only put a 1 inch block in the rear as the extra leaf I needed lifted it a lot, byitself.
They also replaced all the pads that are in between the springs as they were worn out.

I made sure my water tank and grey tank were full so they could get it where I wanted.
Its driving much more precise now , no wallowing or wandering.
Going over california speed bumps at 30mpg barely felt them, reg speed bumps at nortmal felt much improved.
Pretty sure this is a much lift as I will need for BC forest service roads, logging roads etc that I frequent. Also notice my seating postion has a better/more comfortable view as I am down angle in front a bit instead of up angle.

Measurements
Front measured from the front
running board behind the wheel to the ground.
Before
12 inches
After 14.25
Measurements rear
Measured from Runningboard in front of wheel to the ground
Before
11. ?
After
15.25
Before new bumper, new bike rack and new batteries (2xgroup27 6V's) already sagging a bit.
Was 1/2 to3/4 lower in rear then the front when it went in this morning.

With new bumper and bike rack ,batteries (140lbs worth and new springs

Re: 2wd lift finished

What did you use to lift the front? New springs or the puck/spacer setup?

Thanks,

BB

Re: 2wd lift finished

@brianblair I just used new springs.
Moog cc880s variable rate springs. Pretty much gave as much lift as stock radius arms can handle

Did you use standard length shocks? This is exactly what I want to do to my van.

Squirrel: Are you familiar with Action van and Camburg lift kits?

Yes but, I have a budget to work with. On my list is suspension, awning, and a swing away bike rack.

My van is a 2002 that I bought in 2015 . They are the shocks that were on there when I bought it. They fit fine with the taller springs. I am going to get Bilstein's but it drives nicely.
I put the moog cc880s on my van which really are more for a 7.3 or V10 gasser. It made it a little more stiff. But gave 2.25 lift.
The moogcc880 is more for 5.4 which i was told will lift about 1.5 inches.
I had a leaf added in the back and a 1 inch block as my van has some "weight" in the back end.
For the record the ground to the running board right behind the front wheel is 13.5 inches. it is 14.5 inches at the rear of the running board in front of the rear wheel.
I have a propane tank and grey water valve that hangs down a bit below the running boards . I don't 4x2 offroad more than a logging roads and FSR's and forest recreation sites. The runnning boards are staying. They are very functional in this situation.

Just saw your rig's picture, nice looking van. Definitely needs rear leaves looked at. I bought my springs off of amazon it was cheapest price i could find in canada. I had them installed by a shop that only does suspension. They put in the new up front which will need adjustable camber bushings btw. They then took my rears apart , cleaned them redid the pads in between , then made a new leaf to add in to make it right and 1 inch block was my idea. I wanted it a slightly higher in the back unloaded so with gear and family it would not sag.
Then had it alignment front and rear done. The moogs are the limit pretty much in terms of sill being able to get alignment perfect.
I have 2 ⅝ bump stop travel now. Not bad considering a 4 inch lift requires a lot more money and parts and would only get you 1 ⅜ more travel.
I plan on putting the ambulance kit steering stabilizer next. I hear it really helps with vans.
