Looking for OEM hitch...

Well, I've Googled this one to death. I'm looking for an OEM hitch for my 2006 E350. It has to be the "curved" one according to Chris at Ujoint in order for me to install his rear skid. I've come up with nothing local and I'm trying to avoid the $350 dealer option. Anybody used an aftermarket hitch that is curved like the OEM? Thanks, Barry

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

Best place to find an OEM hitch might be a truck wreckers, or a auto wrecking yard that has some passenger vans.

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

I have a Curt from ETrailer.com that has that curve, and I have seen a Uhaul before that had it. ETrailer has LOTS of hitches for Ford vans if you need to see good pics of a bunch of models, but they are all aftermarket. They usually have 10 or do pics of each hitch.

Ford 6L...already went that route. That's why I posted. The factory ones are $350+ and it's looking like I have bought a piece on scrap from Ujoint Offroad. My bad for not reading fine print but when you get no assembly instructions or follow-up with that kind of money spent..I think I'll not shop with Chris again.

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

The Ford hitch part # you need is CC2Z-19D520-A, should be less than $180 and will bolt right up.

I lost a ton of photos recently, found some this morning on an old hard drive. Emailed them about an hour ago. I just found this thread, didn't know you were still having an issue after I sent you the written instructions on 7-3. If the pictures & written instructions don't work feel free to send the parts back for a full refund.

WHoooo... Take a deep breath

Some dealers have rally high markup on OEM accessories, but Ford hitch stuff is generally competitive with the aftermarket. The UJoint website has some photos that show the plate installed, and it looks pretty straightforward. That crossmember however can be a little time consuming. Also, be sure to use new cobalt bits when drilling the frame, as this will save a lot of time a frustration vs a standard HSS drill bit.

If you send the UJoint plate back, I'm not sure where you'd be able to find a similar product.

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

Either the dealer you went to has ridiculous prices, or they looked up the wrong part.

Direct from Ford, $179.04 MSRP

From a Ford dealer, $137.86

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

Our local dealer (largest in the region) has a parts guy that #1 doesn't 6.0L owners and #2 never can find the correct econoline parts. Thanks for the part number info. It gives me other options. Chris, I'm happy with what I have. I just have to make it work. As I stated, it was my bad for not reading the description and causing myself this headache. With the photos you sent I can probably fab something else to work. Barry

Re: Looking for OEM hitch...

They're usually even available on eBay. I have essentially the same one and had it replaced it after a crash (2001, so maybe a bit different). Maybe $350 installed, but really. If they'd do the plate and the hitch at the same time not a bad deal.
