Looking for a pull utility trailer

Ok, so I admit having some extra room when camping might be nice. And not necessarly more room in the van, just more to carry "stuff." Wood, camping chairs, coolers, and what not. And it's really the what not. Oh, mitt to mention three bikes and possibly a canoe at times. Thoughts, anyone have something that is periced reasonably? I have no delusions that I'll be taking it off roading as my van is 2wd. I am contemplating commissioning something built or building off a flatbed. Thoughts? And I don't think I want to invess any tiny nor money on Harbor Freight. Nothing against the brand, just not my cup of tea. Also should you have a line on something please let me know.

I've always thought Jumping Jack trailers were very versatile. Be sure to watch the video all the way through to see it used without the tent.

Re: Looking for a pull utility trailer

I have been quite happy with my Tentrax trailer. The only downside that I have found is that there is no tailgate, so anything you put in the tub needs to be lifted in. The racks on the tongue help to mitigate that issue somewhat.

It is small so you don't notice that it is behind you. Has fantastic clearance so if you do go off-road you are set. You can get it with or without a built-in tent. Mine came with the platform but not the factory tent itself.

I bought mine used at a heck of a good price.

Re: Looking for a pull utility trailer

Anyone haul around something more substantial such as a 5x8 or 5x10? I am thinking about getting rid of my truck so it would serve as the swiss army knife of the trailer world.

Re: Looking for a pull utility trailer

I modified a military M-101 trailer to haul a Polaris MV-7 quad and a 13 foot aluminum boat. I added a tongue box for a battery to power the winch I put in the front of the bed. The box also holds various hold down straps and bungees. There is a small hydraulic hoist in the rear for those big rocks my Wife has to take home. There is room for 3 five gallon cans for water or fuel. The tail gate opens and I have ramps to load the quad. A bonus is that the wheel bolt pattern is the same as the Sporty. It has leaf springs and shocks. I don't think you can overload it. It has a long tongue and tracks perfectly. You can find them in surplus yards. I recently saw 3 or 4 in a surplus yard in Beatty NV. Also LOTS of ground clearance.

Re: Looking for a pull utility trailer

In younger days I used a M416 trailer for camping and hauling stuff:
