Re: ISO passenger swivel seat base

This is another "new purchase" lead, so not sure if it's one you want (it's not DVT though). Anyway, Sportsmobile sells a passenger seat swivel in their online store. It looks as though it may be the same design as the one in my late 90's SMB, and if so I can say it works fine, is a good height, etc. I have no complaints about it.

There is a little "shuffling" that makes it easier to swivel the seat around (move seat forward/aft/open door to clear armrest/etc.), but I think that's more a function of the size of the seat and the given space, not the specific swivel mechanism.

Re: ISO passenger swivel seat base

I picked mine up at the SMB shop in Fresno, Ca. I was driving back to Bakersfield on the 99 coming from yet another CL deal, and thought I'd stop in and see the shop. They gave me a sweet tour and saw about 30 or more different SMB's at various stages of production. I asked them about the swivel seat bases and they had them in stock. Ran me about $325.00 iicr. I later found them on a conversion van parts online store for about $100 less. Man, that was a sweet operation.

Re: ISO passenger swivel seat base

I have one that doesn't fit the floor pattern on my 2009 but I'm not sure about the earlier years (its 7x7 inches. I forgot the top but can measure it and it fits my stock ford seats. It's new. If you're interested I'd sell it for $60 + shipping.

I got it from here (was $110 ): http://www.rvandvansurplus.com/bargain_ ... ms=AccFurn

I'd go this route! Save the money and the hassle (SMB and DVT, in that order). If you have to drill a new hole or two, no big deal. Use big washers and good hardware.
