Which van is a better deal?

I found two vans for sale, 1990's. One is a cop-surveillance 250, 5.8 with only 10k on the clock.
The other is a 1990 150, 300c.i. Club wagon with 80k. 3k for the club wagon, and 5k for the cop shop. Any ideas? Thanks!

A 250 is a better place to start.

Agree, but I'd look carefully for leaks. With that few miles on a motor, seals tend to dry up and fluids tend to leak.

It's for work, I prefer the windows, and my paycheck is as light as my payloads, so 1/2 ton is ok.

Re: Which van is a better deal?

The 5.8L is a better motor IMO however the cop van was probably idled non-stop while during operations, so actual hours will be much higher than other vehicles with similar mileage.

Idle time for sure!
The red van is out, sold.
The "Bacon Cooler" looks like a nice deal.
Thanks.
