Great history of Chinook RVs

Very interesting reading, and lots of pictures too.

Intersting tidbit towads the end, though obviously a little dated:

"Speculative talk of a new Chinook RV production line opening could occur as early as summer 2013. The first new models are expected to be built on Ford's commercial van cutaway Econoline E-450 chassis, to be possibly followed later next year on the new Ford Transit chassis. "

Re: Great history of Chinook RVs

My wife's family had one of the pop-up Chinooks on the Toyota chassis when she was a kid in the 70s. She had fond memories of it, which helped when "selling" her on an SMB!

Re: Great history of Chinook RVs

I believe they are in some sort of production again (although I think they have started with the slightly larger model than the now-classic 21-footer). The original company was Trail Wagons, and I think the new one is "Wagon Trails." IIRC the fellow who has started Wagon Trails has some connection to the original Chinook line.
