Thanks Greg. Most of the people just bitch, cry and moan that their power is out. I just got 60 hours of OT in just under 4 days during these storms and it kinda kicked my ass. It seems there is always a vehicle into a pole during a storm due to poor driving. I had lost a transmission line and while patrolling it came across this:
The guy was doing over 100 MPH and hit a flooded area of the road
I hate coming up on injured people like that when nobody is on scene even though I'm an EMT and spent a large portion of my life as a firefighter. At least the CHP pulled up about the same time. Took an hour and a half to get him out and life flight him to the hospital after EMS arrived. Kudos to those guys and gals as well. The passenger was ejected and didn't have a scratch...
Hope you weren't too long without power. I does make you understand how much we rely on this stuff.
