My BF Goodrich MT KM2's gave up and separated.

The tread separated and the van shook like a paint shaker. The tires are four years old but a lot of tread left. I have about 30k on them.

Had to buy four new tires since I'm changing size. I'll be selling three BFG KM2 255/80 17.

I'm going from the 255/80 17 to 275/70 17. Couldn't decide between 285 and 265 so 275 it is.

Anyone else had these tires go bad before all the tread is gone?

Four sets. Or three sets four times. Can't remember. Jeep TJ, F250, van twice. I won't even put BFGs on a trailer.

Re: My BF Goodrich MT KM2's gave up and separated.

I went with 275/70 17 in the newer BFG KO2. Cheaper than 265 or 285. Go figure.

The van came with Hankooks, (crap). I next went with Nitto TG in 285/70 17, then BFG KM2 in 255/80 17, a tall skinny tire.

I currently have 90000 miles on the van. Three sets of tires over 90k, not bad. Average 30k a set.

So you got 40k out of the Hankooks and 40k out of the BFG?

Still I'd rather have a tire go bald in 20 than separate after 30 with all the tread left.

Hankooks, Nitto, BFG-KM2, three sets, took me to 90k, now the forth set of BFG KO2 will go ??

Are you running E rated tires?

I'm running cooper discoverer at maxx and they are awesome, I just hit 50k on them. They'll make it through the summer.

I wonder how the BFG AT KO2's will do?

I had the BFG mud terrains, which didn't last.. but the All Terrian KO2's are a new design..

Looking for a smoother tire, but the Toyo Big Country MT's where awesome.. but alittle noisy.

I love the Nitto AT, but they wore out on my F250 at 27K. Still have them on the van. I went with the Toyo AT on my little toyota, and will put those on the van if I ever put enough mileage on the Nitto to wear them out.
