Lost a rear axle seal in Yosemite on Friday PMed Dave with my phone number he called me in a few minutes. He hooked me up with his mechanic in Merced and before I could get there he had called some of his friends just around the corner from the shop and they said we could park in there yard if we were gonna be stranded over the weekend. Well we were! So we called them up and they said come on over. We arrived and they had someplace to be so they opened there home to use just like we were family.
Long story short I did not know hospitality like that exist anywhere but the south. We spent the weekend with them and Dave came down we stayed up way to late talking and laughing like we had known one another for years.
I can't thank you enough it was better than the trip we had planned.
Jim

We discussed that and how thankful we are for the forum. It is much different than any other forum I am a member of and I hope that doesn't change.
The people we stayed with said that is why they didn't worry about opening there home to us because all the people they have meet from the forum were wonderful.
Everyone I have met personally from this Forum -- which is quite a few people -- are exactly like DaveB. There are some great people on here. Most of us, if not all, would help a fellow Sportsmobiler . . . or anyone else we found stranded out on the trail. Thanks DaveB for representing us all! Great job!!!!

Thanks Jim I was glad to help. I really enjoyed meeting you and Tami. It was just like a mini forum meet. Don's got a nice little back patio that sure is nice place to kick back and relax out of the heat and meet new friends. I figure I'll be back that way one of these days and we can visit again.
Most of the people I've met on the Forum at group meetings know Don who I off road with often. Both Don and his wife Helen are great people and deserve an applause by supplying Jim and Tami a safe place to stay for the weekend. I've been in the same situation of being broke down far from home and receiving help from other members takes a lot of stress out of getting back on the road. It's reassuring when you're out and about that there is such a great group of folks willing to help you out at any moment. It sure seems that this group is one of a kind and I'm proud to be part of it.

Don is a great guy. He is truly an SMB guy by osmosis, and he never complains about sleeping next to one in a tent. I'd love to share a beer and campfire with you guys again soon.
