Re: Vehicle recovery gone wrong!

All that gear and only one shovel?

Also that second knot just made one permanent double strap, haha. I always carry hardened wood to loop connect like they did the first knot.

Re: Vehicle recovery gone wrong!

When things go wrong, they go REALLY wrong.

Their need to hurry is what did them in.

A need to hurry and risky situations don't mix well. As someone who has a tendency to hurry (my friends call it a personality flaw), I'm all to aware to the consequences. A good indicator to stop is hurrying for something that's not really necessary to begin with. In this case the second take of the crossing for the camera.

But then it's always easy to say such things in hindsight and from the safety of ones armchair.

I really don't know what their relationship was with the camera people there, it could be that getting them good shots is what paid their wage. In which case you'll be tempted to do what it takes as much as possible.

Also: The lack of body damage after dropping that car on the side is seriously impressive.
