Warn Winch Factory Tour
Another forum I am on, Gitout, setup a tour of the Warn Winch factory in Clackamas, Oregon today. They have quite the operation. They manufacture most of their own parts and do all assembly at the plant. It was pretty amazing to see 20 foot lengths of pipe with 1" thick wall being cut up and turned into gears and drums. They also have a sleek new line of bumpers for full size trucks that they just introduced at SEMA. For those of you with Ford pickups and others, the front hubs are made by Warn. One thing that surprised me was that they build their own power cables. We also got to see the new remote control Pheonix series wince in action. The hand held controller is very sweet and easy to use with lots of built in safety features. We could not take photos inside the plant.
