Re: Bug Out Bags

I have NOT ordered from this site, but they seem to have a very good selection of gear, including a lot of single-use items that would be convenient for a Bug Out Bag (sunscreen towelettes, bug screen towelettes,...).

Re: Bug Out Bags

My bag is really a winter emergency pack. We take it with us when we go up north in the winter for x-country skiing and snow shoeing. What is not not shown is our first aid kit that goes with us summer or winter and heavy duty jumper cables that all our vehicles have a set of

A picture is worth a 1000 words.

The pack....

Overall view of contents

Fire, stove full of fuel, food, cook kit, water treatment...

Extra hats, gloves, socks....shovel, tow rope, come-a-long...flares, markers...

Read somewhere that you have detachable componets
If ya gotta grab and go, what do you take?
We have the ultimate escape pod
but could be not able to leave our driveway... or get out of town

Have not read anything on hitting out on mountain bikes
I think that is a pretty good plan B
I have camped on my mtn bike and tend to travel like Jed Clampet
this was years ago when there was not all the ultralight stuff and i also had no money
My bike alone weighted in at 30 pounds at least
Once up and loaded, and going forward I was good to go

Re: Bug Out Bags

A couple of other items that are of great value are a roll of Mechanics Wire , for general lashing and Snares and an Armolite Explorer self contained 22 LR that floats and stores into it's own stock .
Tru Turn fish hooks sizes 14 , 12 , 10 along with 30 feet of 8lb. Flourocarbon line and a few assorted split shot also come in handy .

Merry Christmas to you All

Re: Bug Out Bags

A pre made minimal BOB and a few other items. Haven't checked the price or quality though. Seems it would be easy to make your own like those above. To this bag I would at least add a good handheld LASER.
