SHOW US YOUR PAWS

A call to our furry friends traveling around the country in their SMB, hopefully none are driving
I've seen some cute pics of dogs and cats sprinkled in many photo galleries but would like to see them posted in a single thread for our viewing pleasure.
Would also love to hear a funny story about your pet's travels and/or perhaps their favorite spot in the van.
Let your pictures do the bragging

Woof Woof, Meow Meow

Re: SHOW US YOUR PAWS

Cooper, our Westy (no, no, no, West Highland Terrier)
(pic below is him in the window in the eastern sierras coming back from a SMB affair)

Road trip up from So Cal
short miles, but long trip, couple of stops, wife car sick, blah blah blah

Pulled into Rock Creek campground (think it was there0
Parked the rig to look at the creek for fishin' spots

After we got out i herd the distinct THUNK of the doors being locked
Cooper, had gotten up on the passenger door armrest to check us out
and locked the freaking door

We went back to tease him to get back up on the arm rest
to no avail, he jumped in back and went promptly to sleep!!

My rig is now locked tight, all camp windows locked for the drive

Long story short
Some guys where camping above us, had a cell phone
standing on the highest rock we could find, holding the phone up at arms lenght
using the speaker phone, we were able to call AAA

longish wait, nice guy, took less than 15 seconds with a slim jim
Lesson learned

bw

Re: SHOW US YOUR PAWS

Our story involves Mojo, SMB camping in the desert, and my Tilley hat. Mojo got (extremely) sick during the night and found my hat on the floor made a perfect target. We decided to bury it (the hat) rather than send it back under warranty. Hey I paid $$$ for that thing in Palm Springs a few years ago.

Mojo and a rock at Death Valley Race Track. Yup, after careful study he peed on it. I'm sure we broke several federal statutes that day.

So that's why the rocks at the race track move.

Ms. Matilda wondering where Daddy went on our Death Valley trip.

Her favorite spot in the van is in Daddy's sleeping bag. She is not allowed in Mommy's sleeping bag. Here she is guarding our VW last March in Carrizo Plains.

Getting ready for our last trip to Indiana (also why I haven't been getting anything done ):

During that trip, I'm flying down the Interstate in Kansas, just me and the cat. She gets up to look out at the passing plains, stands on the armrest and, I kid you not, the passenger window starts going down!

She's standing on the button, and freaking out a bit, I managed to get my finger on the driver side UP button for the passenger window, which thank goodness stops it before it's down too far. Once my heart started back up and she got moved again, I decided that when I pull the doors apart to wire the windows to constant house power, I'm also going to add a switch that interrupts all window function for future travel with the her.

Scary as heck and I never want to repeat that!

Otherwise the trip was more of the usual:

Our cat did the same thing once but fortunately it was on the way to the hardware store. After that experience, I made up a couple of removable "contraptions" from PVC that slip into the hole in the door arm rest and cover the buttons. Two short legs stick down into the hole and a pair of horizontal arms cover the buttons. We use them when only one of us is in the van and also when we leave him in the van...we don't want him to accidentally upload the doors either when we are gone.

Re: SHOW US YOUR PAWS

On a very hot day..... our dog at the gas station decided to stand on the passenger armrest where the auto door lock is. All doors auto locked and all windows were up. Luckily I had decided to take the keys with me for some reason to fill the tank with fuel? I normally do not take the keys with me as I leave the keys in the ignition. I learned that day when pets in the car I always have the keys with me at all times!!! or need to teach the pets to unlock the doors too.

She likes to ride on the floor in front of the refrigerator or behind the seat on our bed mattress when nothing back there RB50. Likes to sleep on our feet on the lower bed at night.

edit; pic of pet.
