No modification needed. Each SmartCar comes with one of these on the back.
You might need a compressor though.

Wow, I don't know how you top that carbon footprint short of just swiping your card at the pump and placing the nozzle in the storm drain.

SMB West Nissan on the floor (white beast in the middle of photo below) - at least I think that's the one. A lot of Mercedes-Benz on the floor with it. If you look close you can see the object blocking passage between the driver and passenger seat (i.e., no aisleway).
