New SMB / Mitsubishi-Fuso

I recently received an E-mail from Overland Journal mentioning that SportsMobile will be debuting a new SMB based on the Mitsubishi-Fuso platform at the Overland Expo this month.
Has anyone have any further info on this?

Re: New SMB / Mitsubishi-Fuso

It's built already? The chassis has been sitting there for quite a while.

Re: New SMB / Mitsubishi-Fuso

Last month it was just a bare chassis. If it is finished, they must have been working on the box off the truck, and then installed the finished box on the chassis.

Re: New SMB / Mitsubishi-Fuso

It seems odd to me though, that with a small, supposedly high efficiency direct injection turbo-diesel, a six speed transmission and weighing unloaded about what a full-size Ford van weighs, it still only gets 12.3 mpg. (http://www.mitfuso.com/en-US/Advantage/Fuel-Economy) I had looked at them as a possibility since with a flatbed you can have a really useful truck and a platform to drop a camper onto but if they don't offer any improvement over a 5.8 liter gas engine.....

Which reminds me that I am going to either sell or trade my 1995 E150 5.8 Quigley van for a small to mid-size 4x4 truck. Not ready to post pictures yet, I still need to clean it after the last trip. Has just over 100k miles, an SMB penthouse top w/bed, seats 7 on a leather seat that folds into a bed, 2 removable matching captains chairs and matching front seats.
